Quick answer: Instagram's “Least Interacted With” category is not a list of people who do not follow you back. It concerns interaction, while a non-follower check concerns whether an account appears in your Followers list. A quiet mutual follower and a non-follower can both be accounts you rarely interact with. FANS checks the follow-back relationship using your official export, without your Instagram login.

Instagram introduced the interaction categories in 2020. Contemporary coverage reproduces Instagram's announcement, which describes managing accounts by interaction and feed visibility. That historical announcement is not a promise that your current account has the same menu. This guide does not depend on a particular ranking window, list size, or universal availability.
A quiet follower can still follow back
Imagine that you follow these four fictional accounts. The interaction column is a made-up description of your activity, not a prediction of Instagram's ranking or a FANS feature.

The non-followers are studio_blue and city_digest. Looking only at rarely-interacted-with accounts would include river_notes even though it follows back, and miss city_digest even though it does not. These are two different kinds of mistake: including the wrong person and overlooking the right one.
The FANS comparison uses list membership, not likes, comments, feed position, or an engagement score. Low interaction also does not prove that an account is abandoned, fake, or deliberately ignoring you.

Review the accounts you follow and ask whether you still want their content. If Instagram shows a Least Interacted With category, use it as a starting point for that review. You can still value a friend's occasional updates without tapping Like, and you can enjoy a publication that never follows readers back. The category does not make the decision for you.
If you want to check who follows back
- Request your own Instagram export for the correct profile. Include Followers and Following, choose JSON, and use the focused export guide for the setup.
- Download the completed ZIP and import the intact archive into FANS.
- Review accounts present in Following but absent from Followers. Both lists need to come from the same export.
- Before acting on an important relationship, verify its current status in Instagram. The export reflects saved data, not a live connection.

What if Least Interacted With is missing?
You can still check non-followers. That menu is not an input to FANS, so its absence does not prevent comparing the exported lists. Do not switch your account type or give a third-party app your Instagram credentials just to recreate an interaction filter for a follow-back question.
