Why matching rows gives the wrong answer
Imagine the Followers list begins with Ana, Ben, and Kai while the Following list begins with Ben, Ana, and Noor. Comparing row one to row one would incorrectly treat Ana and Ben as mismatches. The order changed, but the shared memberships did not.

Sorting does not create missing relationship data
Reordering names alphabetically, sorting by a visible timestamp, or pasting rows into a spreadsheet cannot turn one list into a follow-back result. You still need complete Followers and Following datasets from the same account and snapshot.
Do not edit the JSON, merge exports, rebuild the ZIP, or upload it to an online sorting tool. Those steps can alter the supported archive structure or expose private social data.
The safe way to check who does not follow back
- Request Followers and Following from the intended Instagram account in JSON format.
- Wait for Instagram to prepare the export and download the completed ZIP.
- Keep the original archive intact rather than extracting, sorting, or editing its files.
- Save the ZIP somewhere available through the iPhone Files picker.

Order is not a timeline
An export is a point-in-time snapshot. A name's position does not make it a verified history of follows and unfollows, and one snapshot cannot prove the exact moment or reason a relationship changed. If current results matter, request a newly prepared export rather than sorting an older one.
